Wild Side Magazine’s Founder and CEO Monica Alford interviewed nine finalists in three categories leading up to RAMW’s 2024 RAMMY Awards. Highlighting the diverse talent of the D.C. hospitality scene is no easy task — there is no shortage of talented and caring individuals providing for consumers.
In the first episode Alford spoke with Susan Bae of Moon Rabbit, Isabel Coss of Lutèce and Kodjo “Olivier” Etenda of Lutèce. Bae and Coss are both finalists in the Pastry Chef of the Year category, and Etenda is a finalist for Employee of the Year.
Bae, Coss and Etenda shared stories with Alford about why everyone in the local hospitality community has each other’s backs, some fun overlap the three finalists have had at the start of their D.C. journeys and the personal connections that happen in D.C.’s culinary world.
“People in D.C. genuinely check on you, how you’re doing, how it’s going, you know, ‘is there something i can do to help you out?’” Coss said. “I do love the people in this industry. I feel everybody is looking out for each other … that doesn’t happen in everything, you know. This city is special.”
