RAMMYs Finalists Share Their Experiences Serving

Ahead of the 2024 RAMMY Awards on July 21, Wild Side Magazine continues to highlight several of the finalists that represent D.C.’s exquisite and diverse culinary scene. Alford spoke with Manager of the Year Nominee Victoria Gradia of Knead Hospitality and Design and Employee of the Year Nominee Michael Wyatt of Annabelle.

Gradia and Wyatt spoke with Alford about the importance of giving guests a memorable experience, what it’s like to have Madeleine Albright and MC Hammer dining in your restaurant at the same time and where the District’s hospitality scene is heading next.

“You know, traditionally speaking, when people go out to eat they’re getting food, they’re getting a beverage, they’re looking for good service, but people are looking for more of that now,” Gradia said. “They’re looking for an experience, and they’re looking for an opportunity to share a memory with their family. So when we have people that come out to eat in our restaurants, it’s about giving them that memory to take with them. They may not always remember what they eat, they may not always remember what they drink, but giving them an opportunity to really feel a great experience.”
