On April 15, Wild Side Magazine’s Monica Alford was honored to spend Monday evening interviewing a stacked lineup of world-renowned actors at Shakespeare Theatre Company’s “All The World’s A Stage” gala at The Anthem.
A few of many standout moments:
• Alford spoke at length with John Lithgow and Judith Light, the 2024 recipients of Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Lifetime Achievement Award, who both sang our city’s praises as a thriving arts & culture hub.
• Laverne Cox who presented the award to her dear friend Judith Light, gushed about the tireless LGBTQ advocate — and also shared her favorite D.C. memory.
• Former BBC News journalist Katty Kay shared some of her favorite Shakespeare Theatre productions and how excited she is to see their current production of “Macbeth” with Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma.
• Shakespeare Theatre’s artistic director, Simon Godwin, and his wife Rose stopped by to say hi and chat fashion.
